GTF has taken another strategic step towards expanding its operations in the international market. In September, the process of clearing the first shipment of animal-derived flour destined for Paraguay was completed, marking the resumption of the company's exports to the country.

According to the Brazilian Association of Animal Recycling (ABRA), Brazil is one of the main exporters of animal-derived flours, particularly meat, bone, offal, and feather meals. In 2023, Brazil exported 574,000 tons of animal-derived flours and fats, generating a total of US$ 570 million, representing approximately 9.65% of that year's production.

Paraguay is currently one of the main South American destinations for Brazilian exports of animal-derived flours. In 2023, the country received 2,810 tons of meat, bone, offal, and feather meals, representing 2.2% of the total exported by Brazil in this segment. This volume more than doubled compared to 2022, when 1,194 tons were exported. This significant growth reinforces the relevance of the Paraguayan market and consolidates the country as a strategic partner in the international trade of the animal recycling sector.

This positive scenario in Paraguay coincides with GTF's expansion phase, which recently announced an investment of R$ 180 million. This investment will be directed towards industrial modernization, product innovation, and strengthening the brand, both in Brazil and abroad. This investment includes the automation of production lines, a complete redesign of packaging, and the expansion of the product portfolio.

The Paraguayan market was the first destination for this new phase of GTF's animal-derived flour exports. To this end, the Maringá and Paranavaí (PR) units underwent investments in infrastructure and equipment, focusing on increasing production capacity. Currently, these units produce a monthly total of 3,500 tons of flour and 1,500 tons of oil, with a focus on poultry feather and offal flours, used in the formulation of animal feed.

With revenues of R$ 4 billion in 2024, GTF projects to reach R$ 5 billion by 2026, consolidating itself as a powerhouse in the animal-based food and ingredients sector. This growth reflects the company's strategy to expand its operations, including internationally. “This is another important step we are taking towards our growth. We are resuming the export of flour, with Paraguay as our first destination. Gradually, we will further expand our presence in the foreign market,” said Rafael Tortola, CEO of GTF. “Our products and our units are receiving constant investments, both in structure and equipment, precisely to offer the best, whether for the domestic or international market,” he added.
